GHOSTBALL 2009 - End of Season FUN Tourney Coed 4 on 4 Tournament and Toy Drive for the Jeffrey Foundation

Start preparing for the last tournament of the year. At this event, we will be hosting a toy drive for The Jeffrey Foundation, a non-profit corporation that was founded in 1972. The Jeffrey Foundation answers the urgent need for early education and after school care for disabled and at-risk children in Los Angeles County. Please bring one or more unwrapped toys to the beach and make an under-privileged child happy for the holidays. Each donated gift will receive a raffle ticket for a special prize.
This tournament will NOT affect your VBV or AVPNext ratings. Since it is a weekbefore Halloween, we HIGHLY RECOMMEND that each team should wear themed costume attire. Players that wear a costume will be entered into a special mid-day prize drawing. There will also be a prize for best costume, with votes from your peers.
The format for this tournament is co-ed teams of four (two guys/two girls). We will hang bed sheets across the net, which will block your view of some, but not all, of the action on the other side of the net. The games are fun and can be defensively challenging. You can sign-up as an INDIVIDUAL, who will be placed on a 4-person draw team or sign-up as a FIXED team composed of your friends and play together for the rest of the day.
We will have two levels of play for this tournament: Upper level teams are composed of division 1 & 2 players with a recommended average VBV rating of 65 or greater. This level is more competitive. Lower level teams are composed of division 2, 3 & 4 players with a recommended average VBV rating of 65 or less. This level is less competitive and more fun. We will reserve the right to move your team up or down and/or to combine both levels of play into one large fun level.
All Ghostball games are short court with rally scoring to 21, win by one. Standard beach rules apply. The lower part of the bed sheet that is hanging from the bottom of the net can touch you without penalty. All playoff games are single elimination.
